The trees may be different,
but the sky is the same
Its luminous blue
sets memories aflame –
Of time spent in Bavaria

exploring rivers and hills,
Of ballooning
and hiking
during long winter chills.
Bavarian blue is a shade all its own
Whenever I see it
I sigh deeply then groan –
Missing not only
the vistas,
the people
the food
(did I already say food?)
But lifelong friendships that I’d forged and accrued…
And sometimes I long for a ‘helles’ or two…
Prosit!

So nice. We were driving home today and I said to B that I know there is sun up there somewhere beyond the sky that is grey beyond grey. Come back Bavaria blue! Come back you too!
