…and there is still much to do,
like weaving webs,
and refining shrieks of,
the pumpkin has been carved,
skeletons are out of the closet,
ghouls’ drool drapes o’re the doorways,
and dried maggots marinate in zombies’ vomit.
There’s the great ball
in the great hall!
The great party
for one and all,
where goblins, ghosts, and mummies
strut their stuff and fill their tummies.
Do not fear…
for there is still time to get into the groove
and practice your Thriller and Monster Mash moves…
Don your tap shoes.
Jiggle your bones.
Jangle your chains.
Howl. Sob. Groan.
Flap your arms wildly.
But beforehand, check the flame
under your bubbling spider slime stew.
Breathe in deeply…
Savour that delectable stench…
Go ahead, have a taste.
as they say in French.
Now, if you’ll excuse me,
I must be on my way.
There’s still much to prepare for
on this pre-hallows-eve Thursday.
❤ HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL ❤
Stay Safe and Be Well
All in hand then 🙂
Ready and waiting for you to swoop over with your wee witch for tea 🙂

Spookalicious, Donna! 😀
Here in Oz we don’t celebrate Halloween. Well, when I say that, I should say that up until about ten years ago there was nothing at all. But then the big supermarkets decided they could make a real killing in commercialism if they got into the whole “trick or treat” thing – chocolates, and every sort of candy/lolly you can imagine. and, as they say, “The rest is history.” Some people do decorate their houses, but on the whole, it’s all about making money.
We lived in Germany for 20 years and it was the same there until about 10 years ago too. Hmmmmm…$$$ sounds about right. Be well dear Lyn 🙂

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! WHAT FUN! LET’S LUNCH IN NOVEMBER.
BOO TO YOU TOO!
YOU MAKE A WANGDOODLE WITCH—WONDERFUL!
It’s a date! Thanks Jacquie ❤
Very scary stuff. I don’t think I would like to come to a Halloween party at your house! Happy Halloween to you.
Well, ’tis the season, right? You have a happy too, Rosi 🙂
That cauldron looks nasty, but you look great in the witch’s costume! Though I must say, you have very tiny hands compared to your feet!
Written and celebrated in DGLW style. Alas, Halloween has been cancelled here but that didn’t stop my husband from buying fun-sized candy.
At least your husband shops! Be well, dear Susanne 🙂
Could do without the maggot marinade!
Yeah…it is a little extreme. It’s the 12 year-old gross out in me. Be well Alexa 🙂
