‘Twas the 6th of January, one more reason to feast,
‘Twas not only Little Christmas, but the birthday of our beast.
Five years ago, she’d been placed here on earth
Apparently, with intentions
of spreading merriment and mirth.
For why else would a dog be so quirky and hell-bent
As to mimic a cleaning product
An astronomer
And table ornament?
Answering to names like Goober,
Lu-Lu,
but mostly Lucy,
the hound is also an artist,
with a series titled,
“JUICY”
‘UNITY’ ‘CARROT PENDULUM’ ‘CAUGHT BY A SPIDER’
Reinforcing the term, “Dog is Mr. Man’s best friend,”
Lu serves as an armrest
a business partner,
And on her prowess we depend,
especially when she’s stalking a strawberry thief
But, oh,
wait a minute…
It’s her!
Good Grief!
And sometimes when we’re not looking
she turns into a teacher, too
satisfying the adage,
Monkey Puppy see.
Monkey Puppy do.
And so my Dear Reader, thank you once again
for putting up with my ‘Twas
up to the bitter end.
