MOMENTS OF SANITY – A Thanksgiving Day Thought

Chile-red neon streaks the ridge line separating the sleepy mountain
from the grey-washed sky

With one swift brush stroke, the sun announces the start of a new day

Will it be turbulent?
Will it be peaceful?

The curtain of night continues to lift
tomato
pumpkin
saffron
lemon chiffon

A blinding blaze blasts the drowsy valley, a patchwork quilt
of buttery browns, rich reds, and sassy yellows

Here and there
few high-pitched tweets,
light trills,
throaty warbles,
and staccato ca-caws
punctuate the silence

With one more swift brush stroke, the sun leads the way into a new day

Will it be turbulent?
Will it be peaceful?

It depends where you are in the world…doesn’t it?

I am blessed on this 2023 Thanksgiving day. Especially by the two new additions to our family in the last year. Free smiles for all who are visiting today…

Donna… gosh what awesome descriptions of the sunrise – a veritable feast for both eyes and tummy. And speaking of tummies, I just love that photo of the little one having a feast. So much joy in that face 😀 💖
