Sometimes, when I feel stressed hurried, I think of this sapling. Although she has lofty aspirations, she is in no rush to achieve them. Grounded in the present, she reminds me to slow down, breathe, focus on myself and then broaden that scope to include the beauty that surrounds me.
Prompted by this week’s Daily Post Photo Challenge : let your inner world and the outside one converge in a photo.
I’m feeling more peaceful now, how about you?
Oh I beat myself up all the time. My inner critic is always saying, “You should be able to get more done. You’ve retired now–you have plenty of spare time, yet you get nothing down. Get your act together!!”

Oh, Lyn! I’m so happy to see (hear from) you today. Looks like you are on the mend. Just do me a favor…no tri-athlons yet! And I decree that there will be no more ‘shoulds’ and no more beatings, Lyn 🙂 only subtle taps on shoulders to remind us to step back and breathe to get a different perspective on what’s going on with us. Be well! I’m looking forward to more J’Sharn adventures! ❤

LOL my critic is very fast moving (unlike me) and doesn’t like being thwarted, however, I’m using earbuds to listen to “restaurant/cafe noises”, and that seems to help 🙂

Thank you so much Donna, that was great. Yes, I feel more peaceful. I love your sentence: “Although she has lofty aspirations, she is in no rush to achieve them.” I wish you a good week :))
