While temperatures continue to climb in the northern hemisphere, one way I try to keep cool is by imagining I am in Greenland again. I swipe my brow, close my eyes, and pretend the fan oscillating at my feet is an Arctic wind sweeping off an iceberg. It might not be as cold, but it is somewhat soothing as it dries the hairs sticking to my forehead.
Dogs barking in the distance recalls the sled dogs’ excitement at setting out on an expedition. Be it the hunt or taking a bunch of tourists on a 72 hour adventure, it makes no difference to them as long as we are on the move…
The whine of a leaf blower from the neighbor’s garden is a reminder of how we puttered around the Ilulissat Fjord, carefully winding our way through chunky blocks of ice and soupy swaths of slush, while in complete awe of the hand mother nature had in creating these monumental one-of-a-kind sculptures…
The splash outside my window jolts me from my reverie. The fan is still in motion, but it’s still hot enough to fry an egg on the hood of a car. I guess, as a last resort, I can always cool off in the pool with Desilu.
Thank you for accompanying me on my stroll down memory lane today.
Wishing you cooler days and nights.
Be Well
❤

Desilu certainly has the right idea. Greenland looks pretty spectacular. Thanks for sharing the cool pics!

Greenland. Now there’s an idea for next year…
What a lovely post, I really enjoyed your imaginings and how you portrayed them.
We’re in the mountains of Slovakia at the moment and thankfully, it’s not too hot. Thank you for sharing.

I’m loving your adventures too, Jacqueline. If you do ever make it to Greenland, just be aware there aren’t many roads. But you can always refit a ship 🙂
