UN-BELIZE-ABLE

My inner twelve-year-old’s spirit for adventure soared a few months ago when a friend suggested I join her on a cruise.

The Pirates of the Caribbean theme song immediately dropped into in my head as I envisioned the wind blowing the hair off my face while I steered our ship with great prowess thru roiling seas or as I swung from the yardarm after tying down flapping sails undone by a blustering gale.

A vision of joining my loyal swashbuckling mates on deck with swords drawn in preparation of a fight over keeping our booty safe danced before my eyes.

“Donna…are you still there?” My friend’s voice pulled me back to dry land. “Is it yes or no?”

Several memories of intense seasickness rose from my belly. Bile burned my throat. I swallowed hard. “Sure! When do we sail?”

Seven months later, we departed from the port of Miami on the real adventure…a totally vegan cruise.

First stop: Belize, where the day began with a crystal cave exploration. They call it a refreshing experience at The Gate to Hell…and it did not disappoint.

The adventure ended with a five part zip line experience a la Indiana Jones
thru the jungle…

woooooo-whoooooo

Next stop: Roatan, Honduras
(a sneak peek)

❤ Thank You for joining me on my expedition today ❤

May your ANCHOR be tight, Your CORK be loose, Your RUM be spiced,
And your COMPASS be true.
Cheers!

Freezing rain today in Canada’s capital. Dreary, dreary, dreary. So, thank you for the cruise. I take my rum with ginger beer and lime and most of my days are uncorked. Cheers to you, Donna!
