When you were a kid, did anyone ever stare up at the sky and refer to a crescent moon as God’s toenail clipping?
Or suggest to you the moon is made of green cheese?
I could understand swiss cheese. Maybe.
But roqufort?
No.
On evenings when the moon was full, did anyone ever point out the pocked face of a man and comment on how he was watching you?
Creeeeeepy!
Right?
Besides the peeping-tom heebie-jeebie effect, what happened to the rest of his body? Was it suspended in one of Saturn’s rings, cartwheeling in some undiscovered planet’s orbit, or floating along, deep within the Pegasus constellation à la The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’s headless horseman?
I remember the first time I saw this photo.
I might have been eleven.
OMG! I had nightmares for a month!
And yet, I still wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up…a dream never realized obviously, but still made possible on some obscure level, thanks to Lego, my husband, and the lockdown of 2020:
Which brings me to the purpose of this post…
What do you call a pancake?
Crêpe, flapjack, pfannkuchen, blintze?
And does it remind you of something cosmic?
I know…nonsense!
~ thank you for stopping by today ~
❤ Be safe, healthy, and well ❤
P.S. I’m serious…what do you call a pancake?
P.S.S. (or is it P.P.S.) for more Lego Lockdown Musings: HIT HERE and HERE 🙂
Interesting relationship with the moon. Honestly, I’m afraid I just call it a pancake. Once in a while in my life I have referred to them as flapjacks, but only occasionally. Someone in my family referred to them as flannel cakes. Why do you ask?

Just curious. I guess a better question would be ‘do you still play with your food’? Soooo…do you, Rosi? 😉

I love Lego AND Pancakes 😄 Haven’t played with Lego since Lockdown began 8 weeks ago. Normally play Lego with my grandson, but I haven’t seen him or his big brother and sisters (and cousins) in all that time. 😥

I love this. I’ve bookmarked it so I can go over the video again with my grandkids (the fly returns!). I call them pancakes. Unless they’re made with hot water and cornmeal in an iron skillet, then they’re hoecakes—ha! I just brought in another option…

Hoecakes, eh? Had to look the etymology up on that one and I’m glad I did. Whew 🙂 “a coarse cake made of cornmeal, originally baked on the blade of a hoe.” Thank you Ellen ❤

My husband makes them; I like them better than pancakes, quite frankly.

I love so much that you’ve been playing with Lego. I miss the days of playing with Lego with my kids. My son used to set up the minifigures in funny places and take pictures, too.
We call them pancakes, and yes, we still play with food at times. 🙂

Lovely post! Funny, as a child I used to think there were humans living on the moon 🌙… and pancakes, I call them pancakes! I sent you an email 📧 about a week ago. Still awaiting your reply 😊
