I woke up this morning,
with my back to a tree
wond’ring how on earth my chin hairs
had grown past my dimpled knees.
The last thing I remember,
someone cried out, “trick-or-treat!”
Now it’s suddenly December?
Are those gnomes nudging my feet?
Was I sucked into a whirlwind?
Abducted by imps?
Swallowed by a maelstrom?
Knocked out cold by a troop of chimps?
Did I nap into the future?
Tumble backward to the past?
Was I held prisoner in a time loop?
Shanghai’d and hung from the Black Pearl’s mast?
What happened to November?
It was the 1st a minute ago.
I’ve no excuse for not writing,
No…
not even for NaNoWriMo.
Then again, we did have visitors
And…
that trip to Mexico,
Not to mention, a last-minute conference
Before a dinner with my beaus
Although,
I managed to be present
and celebrate Thanksgiving Day
with turkey, trimmings, and desserts
(except for the garlic parfait).
Indeed,
November has been a blur,
as well as much of ’19,
And so my intention for December is
to have more of a writing routine.
What’s your experience lately with the passage of time?
Please share your thoughts in the comments.
❤ Thank you for stopping by ❤
! Cheers !
What happened to November? I think I must have slept through it ‘cos I certainly don’t remember much about it.

I doubt you slept through it, Lyn. You are always busy with something or other. Be well, dear Blogmate!

LOL actually I was busy – ferrying two of my grandchildren to and from school while Mum and Dad organised tradies/carpenters etc working on their new house. They finally moved in last weekend. Some cupboards and drawers have no handles, but they’re in their new home for Christmas 😀

Sorry, haven’t been online much. Yes, I’m well (and safe) thanks. Having a total knee replacement on 20th Feb – 6 months earlier than expected. 😀

This was a really lovely post, Donna! You certainly packed a lot into one month.
For me, the passing of time is a dance that can be too fast and too slow all at once. What I’ve learned is to enjoy it all, no matter the tempo. Enjoy!

You said it, Pam! The key is enjoyment. Be well, my PB sister 🙂

Whoa! You were cheek by jowel with Mayor Pete. How cool is that? And all the other stuff too, like moody Cancun and your fair city. Know wonder November flew by.

The Pete event was cool for sure. We could use a leader with integrity…one who’s intelligent, authentic, and focused on unity. Fingers crossed.

Those gnomes are so cute. I like how they are all together as if from a village. For me, November and now December seem to be going by real fast. My writing goal is to get a bit better organized and then I so want to get a certain number of books off my TBR list before the years end.

I’m not surprised at how fast time flies for you judging by the number of books you read and blog about! You are a WONDER 🙂

Loved your post and especially the pictures!! Yes, November flew by and the same thing is happening in December – it has started off slowly, but has been gaining momentum every day – yikes!! Does this mean another year without a Christmas letter??

Thank you, Nina, for making the Mexico portion of November possible. Such fun!

How can one not love a post that opens with those gnomes? :0 And the charm of the piece actually does the photo justice. As to time, I spend most of it asking myself, what exactly did you accomplish today, especially on those days when I never seemed to stop, but, again, what exactly did I accomplish?

Thanks, Ellen. I guess the real question is, what does accomplishment mean to me? Sometimes a nice toes-up on a busy day goes a long way. Right? Anyway…happy holidays to you and yours 🙂
